In 2024 I had another assignment to do at 3 American Military Cemeteries in France, so I organised a road trip in the area. We took a hotel room not far from the first 2 cemeteries and made it our base for 2 days, passing by the third cemetery on the last day on our way home. Our hotel base was in Château-Thierry.

First on the list was the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, the assignment took us about 3 hours and after this, we strolled around a bit to see the chapel and the monuments, even if the weather wasn't great at all as you can see from the photos. We ended the day in our hotel and the restaurant nextdoor because we were tired from driving and walking the cemetery. The next day we went to Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, the assignment there took us again about 3 hours and since the weather was better, we decided to walk the cemetery and then go to the town we were staying, the town is named after the castle and although not much remains of the old castle, within the castle grounds you can now view a live show with birds of prey. We ended the evening by passing by some nice fields in the area for some sunset photography with hay, cows and sunflowers.
Our last day we had to go to St. Mihiel American Cemetery on the way home for yet another few hours work for the assignment, the American caretaker showed us around the place and behind the scene to view how they actually carve gravestones when needed. We went home to finish off all the photos of the assignment and called it a day.
