Jochen Gielen is a Belgian Adventurer and Photographer
specialised in Maritime Photography. Altough he
was born and raised in Zonhoven wich is
located about 80 km from Antwerp and 200 km from
the nearest sea, he has a big interest in
Oceanliners, Cruiseships, Lighthouses and
Lightships.
His photographic hobby started with animals and
holidays at the age of 6 but off course the
cheap equipment was not up to the job and as
time went on he joined the local Photography
Society and changed equipment, evolving to the
present allround photographer specialised in
Maritime Photography but still often going back
to travel and wildlife photography and still
expanding his equipment. His other passion has
always been off-road 4x4 driving and traveling
the world, this combined with photography
resulted in this website.
I also have to thank some people for the
realisation of this site in one way or another,
first of all I thank all of my friends and my
parents and sister for support, second thanks to
Louy Lative (made photo 3), John Turner and John Dockray for the
English trips, Onno Heesbeen (made photo 4) for the Dutch trips
(all on the second photo), third to all
the members of 2 groups I belong to, Cruisetalk
and Fotoclub de Teut. I know I left many of you
out but I thank everyone who in some way helped
me with my work showed here. |
